When musician Chris Root, 26, first spotted Juju Stulbach, 30, on the set of an indie-film in New York City in 2001, he instantly began thinking about how to bring their two worlds together. At the time the Brazilian dancer and actress had no interest in pursuing a musical career, but the few bars that Root heard her sing were enough to convince him that she was simply in the wrong field.

The Its! to Play Madison’s Slipper Club

Many bands struggle and burn out before they are able to accomplish what The Its! have done in under a year. The Chicago band has released their debut CD, finished a mini national tour, and set the foundation for a growing fan base. The rapid pace of the band’s success has been attributed to the collaborative efforts of guitarist Maciej Padwoski, bass Nicko McCurley, drummer Patrick Fraser and guitarist/ keyboard player Eric Quinlan, who despite past musical failures believe they have stumbled upon a winning combination.
