I created this Save the Date Card for my own wedding in December. We had a winter theme that used red, gray and black as the primary ceremony colors. The idea behind the design was to capture the idea of romance in a winter wonderland. This card was later turned into a larger poster.

Mike Batka looked through the window of his retail store on Milwaukee Street to the lush field and steep hillside of Hiestand Park.
Batka does this every few hours to check the weather, monitor the park and to get a head count of the growing number of disc golfers waiting to tee off.
“There are times I’ve looked across the street and found upwards of two dozen people standing around,” Batka said. “Madison has a nice disc golf scene, but it hasn’t seen much growth in its resources, and we’re reaching a point of critical mass.”
We were contracted by Miss Pole Fitness to create a collection of promotional cards. The alternative all-women fitness gyms wanted a clean, two-colored classic look that maintained an image of empowerment, while steering clear of any negative perceptions that can be associated with the pole dancing stereotypes.
This was a prototype for a limited addition business card we designed and produced. We called it the Katana (click here to view the Katana in action), after the double bladed samurai sword. When one side of the card was pulled, the other side simultaneously came out in the opposite direction, allowing for a lot of room for company information, bios and much, much more. We created less than 250 of these cards and distributed them at special events. These cards were designed to leave an impression, and they never failed.
I was contacted by Country Grove Preschool to design and build its Website. They were looking for a simple design that was clean, easy to navigate through and had a subtle crafty, county feel.
This poster was created for a couple who wished to mark their Vegas wedding in a artistic manner that was beyond the traditional wedding invite in a frame. The final product was 36″x12″ poster depicting the event. Italian was used as the print language to create an image of romance and mystery, while retaining classic charm to a edgy design.
This was an oil on canvas illustration I created for Fare Magazine during the winter of 2008. The concept for the illustration was to accompany an article written on proper table etiquette for various public and private dinner settings.
I attempted to capture a more timeless appearance by opting to create a 1950s feel, by bringing in retro looking characters and themes.
This illustration and layout was created for Fare Magazine’s summer 2008 issue. The illustration accompanied the story “Tipping Etiquette” which discussed several guidelines to remember for leaving tips at restaurants. The image of the classic carhop waitress was used to convey a feeling of tipping being a timeless topic that crosses generations, as views and attitudes on tipping have changed over the years.
Following a string of bad publicity and low approval ratings, this cartoon was created to depicted the general feeling of the public regarding President George W. Bush’s plan towards economic recovery.
